Hi and welcome to the homepage of The Anglesey Rock-n-Roll Club. Just a few lines to introduce ourselves. We are Mike and Hazel, both lovers of the music and lifestyle of the late fifties and early sixties. I have been involved in the music scene for over thirty years, firstly in a country music band then later on the rock-n-roll DJ scene. I have performed all over Europe and North America, playing festivals in both continents. I moved to North Wales from Cardiff in 2005 after meeting Hazel through a rock-n-roll MSN group. We were married at Gracelands in Memphis on 29th April 2006. This is when I decided to retire from the music scene, as far as performing was concerned. After two years of scouring the area for rock-n-roll music, it was at a country music club in Llangefni that I decided that the only way to get rock-n-roll back to North Wales was to start something myself, and so The Anglesey Rock-n-Roll Club was born. Thanks to the committee of The Wellmans Sports and Social Club in Llangefni I was offered the use of one of the prime venues on Anglesey. The inaugural night for the club was on 16th November 2008, with The North Wales Alley Cats, supported by myself with the Rave On Record Hop, delivering a great night of solid rock-n-roll. The aim of the club is to promote the music and dance of the rock-n-roll age and to once again put the island of Anglesey back on the international tour circuit and to create a venue where tour promotors can guarantee a good crowd for top American and European rock-n-roll artists when in this country. The club will be run on a totally non-profit making basis, all monies taken, after expenses, will be ploughed back into the club in order to pay for bigger and better live acts. We need your support, whether you are North Wales residents or holiday makers, so please come along and join us, a warm welcome and a good rockin' time is waiting for you.
